Tetris Mania was released by EA who recently acquired Jamdat mobile who had before acquired the mobile Tetris license from Blue Lava Wireless. Tetris Mania features three game modes: cascade, sticky, and fusion. Sticky originally appeared in The Next Tetris, while cascade and fusion were Tetris Worlds innovations. A player can choose to play these modes in either "mania" or "challenge." Mania allows longer games, working somewhat like Tetris Worlds, while challenge mode offers a three minute score attack for cascade, time attack to see how quickly the player can clear the bottom row in sticky, and time attack for a fusion mass clear. The game saves records in all six modes and also saves games if a player wants to return to it after exiting a game without topping out. The game does not detect T-spins. Tetrominoes show unusually fast DAS. In cascade, the game scores (lines + cascade steps)*level*10 and moves up level goals for each line and cascade.
