First A-type?

"It was one of the first games to popularize the play model of playing endlessly against increasing speed for survival, as opposed to beating levels or clearing a predefined number of lines."

But is this so notable? Gerasimov's Tetris was A-type, and so were the NES games by Tengen and Nintendo. The only game that I can remember from the late 1980s that concentrated on B-type was the arcade version of Atari's Tetяis. --Tepples 12:06, 22 February 2007 (EST)

In the global sense of things, you are very correct. However, the only Tetris game predating Sega's Tetris in Japan was Bullet Proof Software's Tetris on Famicom. If I remember it correctly it consisted exclusively of looped B-Type gameplay.Colour Thief 13:31, 27 February 2007 (EST)

How is a "level" defined? 10 lines like in Nintendo's versions? --Tepples 12:06, 22 February 2007 (EST)

Not the Nintendo's "every 10 lines" level system. This game using "every 4 lines" and "level timer" system. The level usually increases every 4 lines, but sometimes level will increase without erasing lines. 211.13.20.141 02:27, 23 February 2007 (EST)
