NYET III - The Revenge of the Mutant Stones is a shareware Tetris clone for MS-DOS made by Proline Software and the sequel to NYET II.

The game consists of 7 blocks of 18 levels, in which the aim is to clear a set number of lines. Each level has its own gimmicks.

In addition, through playing the player will earn money which they can use to purchase power-ups, such as the "scanner" showing previews of the next four pieces.

Money

Money is earned as follows:

  • Clearing lines:
    • Single = 1
    • Double = 2
    • Triple = 5
    • Tetris = 10
  • Clearing levels
  • Diamonds:
    • Ruby = 5
    • Emerald = 3
    • Opal = 1
  • Special tasks: These appear after clearing a full row of levels. Special tasks are optional and require money to attempt, and clearing a special task will give the player an extra reward.

Changer 10 Changes a stone into another. Rerolls your current piece
Beanpole 15 Changes any stone into a long red stone. Changes your current piece to an I-Piece
Sonar 20 Only useful in Perfect-Bonus-Levels. Changes your current piece to the most useful piece (usually I)
Bomb 25 Simply try out ! Destroys the top-most occupied row of the playfield
Row Destroyer Class I 30 Decreases the rows to go. Decreases your Lines counter by 1
Row Destroyer Class II 30 Destroys one row at the bottom of the playfield.
Parachute 30 Slows down gamespeed.
Little Black-Box 40 Simplifies a level immediately.
Scanner-Module EX-5000 45 Repairs one Scanner-Monitor. Permanently grants you an extra scanner (next piece preview)
Snakefork 50 Stops an aktiv snake.
Simply Red 50 Colours all stones on screen red. Can reveal invisible blocks
Ghostbuster 50 The ghosts are afraid of this.
Steel into Stone 55 Changes steel into stone.
Keyboard 55 Use it if YOUR keyboard get dizzy. Disables the effect of levels where your controls are altered
Handcuffs 60 Quit any movements to the right.
Bucket 60 Fireballs hate water.
Surprise 70 You never know what you will get. Gain a random item
Electrical Engineer 70 Are sometimes very useful. Disables moving gates
Poison 75 Destroys all snakes in one level.
Lady Lynn 80 Can help you with magical zones.
Nuclear bomb 80 This is a bomb with enourmous power. Destroys the 5 top-most occupied rows of the playfield
Save Game 80 You must pay for that.
Passport 90 Cancels all special rules
Big Black-Box 130 Cancels all action in an hard level.
Terminator 190 Exit from current level.
Steel into Diamonds 200 Turns steel into diamonds. The diamond color is random
PROLINE Special-Package 220 Low budget saving offer. Grants 3 Save Games, saving you 20 gold
Continue 300 Continue a game if you have failed.
