Modes
Adventure
The story mode, named Adventure Mode, is a master storyline spanning 10 acts each with 10 stages. Each stage is either a battle with a CPU player or a single player challenge. The last 3 chapters, which were originally bought as DLC, can be played for additional alternative voice clips, backgrounds, and Puyo and Tetris skins.
Versus
Players can choose Puyo Puyo or Tetris before the start of a match. If a Tetris player has at least one Puyo opponent, the Tetris players' attacks will be queued in the meter on the left of their field and only sent when a non-line clearing piece locks.
In addition, the number of lines sent is based on whether a Tetris player is challenging a Tetris or Puyo player.

Swap
There are two fields that swap every 20/25 (default)/30 seconds: Puyo and Tetris. At the start of each round, a spinner will appear to determine which style the players will play on first. When the timer at the top-center reaches 0, the boards are swapped over to the other playstyle before resetting. A piece will still fall when in the back, and if it manages to create a chain it will create a combo, which will stack on top of chains, but if it does not, it simply disappears.
Fusion
Also known as PuyoTet Mix, this mode has both Puyo Puyo and Tetris are combined, with each character having their own unique dropset that mixes both Puyo pieces and tetrominoes. It has an 8 x 17 field unlike other modes. Puyo pieces and tetrominoes both count towards a chain via a combo system, with the left number representing the Puyo chain and the right number representing the line chain.
Tetris pieces will crush any Puyo pieces below them and "swap" them by dropping from the top. Hard dropping it will clear them immediately while manually dropping them will crush each of them one row at a time.
Garbage will drop in the third interval if no chains have been set off, and they disappear if crushed by a Tetris piece.
Big Bang
In Big Bang, all players start in a Fever state (Puyo Puyo) or Lucky Attack (Tetris). Each player is given the task to clear as many preset boards as they can. After the round timer expires, both players stop playing Fever/Lucky Attack, but pausing until a player makes their last move. The game then compares the points the players have made, and whoever has the strongest power will inflict damage onto the other players. Players who get damaged will have their field damaged as well, reducing their HP bar. When their HP is 0, their field is destroyed, and the last one standing wins.
Party
This is a time limited mode where players compete for the highest score. The same rules to Versus apply, except there are items and when one player tops out the opponents, the player will gain +3000 points
