Hexion (ヘクシオン Hekushion) is a Tetris-like game that uses tetrahexes instead of tetrominos. It is based on Hextris by David Markley.
Gameplay
Hexion plays like Tetris (Sega), using similar lock delay mechanics and handling.
Lock delay
Lock delay is reset when a tetrahex is off of the ground (this ground can be either the stack or the other player's tetrahex in Joint mode). This behavior is similar to Tetris The Grand Master, with an additional reset while in midair.
If a tetrahex is moved into a mid-air position, it will attempt to move down.
If lock delay has been reset 16 times, the tetrahex will lock instantly once it lands on the stack again.
Continues
In most modes, the player will be given the option to continue after a game over; when continuing, a new game will begin at the same level the previous game ended at.
In Versus and Joint, however, continuing will bring the players back to the "select voice/sound effect" screen.
Ghost
Hexion features a Ghost piece. It disappears after five levels.
Rotation system
Due to upload concerns, Rotation state can't be explained fully.
Can be only wall kicked downwards and diagonally. Trying to floor kick will not work.
In some cases, unusual kicks can be performed.

Modes
Normal
Standard endless game. Another player may start their own simultaneous game at any time.
Form Select
Special modes that use different field dimensions. All three of these modes share a leaderboard, and only one player may play at once.
Wide
Mode played on an extremely wide field.
Long
Mode played on a tall field. The field is split in two, with the left side showing the upper half, and the right side showing the lower half.
Slash
Endless mode on a diagonal field.
Multiplayer modes
Normal
Begins two simultaneous games of the singleplayer Normal mode. Both players receive the same sequence.
Versus
Two player versus mode with garbage. Both players may select a starting level from 0-9.
Garbage is sent by line clears greater than a single, and the amount of garbage received is the number of lines cleared minus one. Unlike in other games, garbage in Hexion is received during active time.
When one player clears more than one line at once while the other player is in ARE, then the other player's last tetrahex will be removed from the field.
Joint
Two player co-operative mode on a single field. Both players share the same level.
