Tetris is an official game for mobile devices developed and published by N3TWORK.[1] It was released shortly after EA's Tetris and Tetris Blitz were delisted from app stores on January 22, 2020.[2]

The look and feel of the game is very similar to N3TWORK's other game Tetris Royale, and includes similar customization options.

Gameplay

Tetris features standard Tetris Guideline rules. The player uses either swipe or on-screen button controls to manipulate and place tetrominos.

Six visual themes are available: Back to Basics, Monstris, Shooting Stars, Neon Future, Toytris, and 8-Bits.

Modes

As of version 2.6.0, Tetris (N3TWORK) has the following game modes:

Solo Marathon

Endless fixed-goal Marathon mode with a level cap of 15. The player can review their scores on the local leaderboard.

Primetime

A nightly tournament, hosted by Millen Baird, which takes place at 9:00pm local time and is available in select countries.

During each Primetime tournament, players have 5 minutes to join the in-game lobby to participate. Unlike Royale mode, Primetime isn't restricted to just 100 players, and potentially thousands can compete simultaneously.

The Primetime tournament is composed of timed rounds. Each round has a score goal, but only survival is required to pass. If a player reaches the score goal, they enter a Frenzy Time mode—signified by a glowing rainbow frame around the playfield—which gives the player a 2x score multiplier until the end of the round. If the player does not reach the score goal, garbage is added to their playfield. The amount is based on the player's score at the end of the round. Topping out is the only way to be eliminated. The last round adds unclearable garbage if the player did not reach the score goal. Finishing the final round allows the player to appear on the leaderboard at the end with all other winners, and are ranked by their final score.

Each night has different round configurations, with varying lengths, score goals, and speed levels, which can change scoring potential.

Royale

A battle-based multiplayer mode. Up to 100 players can compete in a single lobby, similarly to Tetris 99, until the last player standing wins. Level increases every 30 seconds.

Garbage targeting starts with Random; however, the player can also select one of their attackers to send garbage lines back to. Tapping the Target section cycles through the active players which the player mainly sends garbage lines to.

Tetris Together

Using the Royale mechanics, the player can create a custom room to invite friends to play using the app. Real-time voice chat is also available for each custom room.

Four Gravity options are available: Zen (constant Level 1 speed throughout), Normal (standard Royale level increase), Hard (starting on Level 10), and Champion (starting on Level 15).

Development

On the press release, N3TWORK stated that the app will have additional gameplay modes and features in subsequent updates.[1]
